Capcom has officially registered the European trademark for Okamiden, the DS sequel to Okami.
Although Capcom committed to releasing its Okami follow-up within 2010 inside Japan, there was no official word yet on whether or not they would release the title in the West. But now Siloconera has spotted a trademark registered by Capcom in Europ– and its for Okamiden.
Okamiden follows the adventures of Chibiterasu, a smaller, cuter version of the celestial-brush-weilding wolf-god Amaterasu. Chibiterasu teamsup with Kuninushi, the son of Okami’s faux-hero Susano, and Kuninushi rides on Okamiden’s back throughout the game.
The original Okami was created by Clover Studios, which has since been shut down, and many menbers of the staff went on to form Platinum Studios, makers of the Wii brawler MadWorld. Okamiden therefore won’t be handled by the original Okami creators.
Guessing from the screen shots released so far, Capcom is trying their darnedest to bring the cel-shaded watercolor charm of the original to the DS.

In it, you got [...]

Way better than those shitty mint tins they now sell at FYE and Newbury Comics. But here’s a Nintendo product you definitely should not eat: The Legend of Zelda Model Set. Currently [...]
(NOTE: This was a contribution to a feature that ran @NintendoLife about the 25th Anniversary of the NES. You should go read it.) The first video game I ever saw was Kung-Fu for the NES. My older sister’s friend down the street had just gotten the system, so she kindly escorted me down to their [...]
