Long time industry veterans from Sony, Capom, Sega and Crystal Dynamics have joined forced to form a new Wii development studio called Judobaby. Members of the staff worked at severeal design positions across the companies, producing classics like Rampart and Paperboy, as well as the Maximo series.
The new studio says it hopes to release its first Wii game this year, which they promise to be one of those “fun, humorous, ‘pick-up & play’ products to entertain the entire family.” Judobaby however promises to not to be just another shovelware studio, assuring “top quality entertainment” and “gaming experiences that have yet to be offered.”
Oh and they might also make their game into a movie.
While their somewhat vague promise of unique gaming experiences sounds intriguing, tying games and movies up together doesn’t always work out great.
