Nintendo has confirmed that they will bring popular video service Netflix to North American Wii’s this Spring. This means that Wii owners who also have a Netflix subscription will be able to stream movies to their TV via the internet at no additional cost.
(UPDATE: The Wii’s page over at Netflix is live, so head over and reserve your disc already!)
Nintendo is the third current-gen console to receive Netflix functionality, with the service originally landing exclusively on the Xbox 360. In a bizarre legal loop hole, Netflix was able to break their exclusivity deal and bring the service to the PS3 by implementing an “instant streaming disc.”
The Nintendo Wii will use a similar disc solution, but will not be able to steam high definition movies and television shows like the XBOX 360 and PS3.
The 360 remains the only console that doesn’t require an extra disc to view movies and TV Shows. It also allows users to manage their queue from the main menu.
A non-disc solution may make it to the other consoles once Microsoft’s exclusivity deal expires later this year.
Nintendo is scheduled to detail the new feature later today.

In it, you got [...]

Way better than those shitty mint tins they now sell at FYE and Newbury Comics. But here’s a Nintendo product you definitely should not eat: The Legend of Zelda Model Set. Currently [...]
(NOTE: This was a contribution to a feature that ran @NintendoLife about the 25th Anniversary of the NES. You should go read it.) The first video game I ever saw was Kung-Fu for the NES. My older sister’s friend down the street had just gotten the system, so she kindly escorted me down to their [...]
