Epic Games has gotten their popular Unreal Engine 3 operating on the iPhone, and says that it will be used to play games on the iPhone 3GS as well as an unnamed mobile platform. The game engine has been used by a boat-load of games, but more recently in titles like Bioshock 2 and Borderlands.
Epic previously said that the engine was reserved for next gen consoles when pressed to bring the engine to the Nintendo Wii, so its move to bring the engine to the iPhone seems a bit puzzling. However, it has been reported that a supposed non-Epic entity is working on porting the engine to the Wii.
Now that its running on the iPhone, it proves that the engine can be used on lower power systems, so perhaps those Unreal Engine Wii stories have some credence to them after all.
Here’s a video of the engine running on the iPhone

My older sister’s friend down the street had just gotten the system, so she kindly escorted me down to their [...]
