Ahh the indelible wisdom of The Beets.
As a frequent fawner for Patti Mayonnaise, I was delighted to see the that The Beets, a mock Mod band from Nickelodeon’s 90’s cartoon Doug, are being memorized in a T-shirt by Busted Tees.
The shirt, which goes for twenty bucks, is a mock memorabilia shirt from The Beets‘ fictional 1996 Killer Tofu Tour. The Beets were a paradoy of The Beatles, with Killer Tofu as their hit song.
For fans of the show, the site even adds a little inside joke, stating “Any Doug fan will find this shirt very Funnie”
Get it? Funnie. The main character’s full name was Doug Funn– nevermind.
Now excuse me while I go play my Super Pretendo.
