So there’s this band from Brooklyn called the Gregory Brothers. They have some pretty good songs (check out Bad Habit), and describe themselves as “75% Brothers, 25% Babe.”
But more importantly, they’re really funny. Lately they’ve focused their attention on a series of YouTube videos titled “Auto-tune the News,” where they take banal media from the 24 hour news cycles and set them to auto-tune, changing these otherwise macabre monologues into rapturous, unintentional melodies.
Now you may know the Bros have a particular disdain for artsits who use auto-tune to make shitty music, but this is one group who is using it right.
Case and point:
